Despite much skepticism about whether or not the pop singer's really 17, editors over The Hairpin obtained her birth certificate. And, as it turns out, Lorde is, in fact, 17 years old. According to the official document, she was born Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor on November 7, 1996.
Maybe it's because she's so poised, or maybe it's because she's lived such a full life, but—to us—Angie seems like a beautiful 40-something, or a well-preserved 50-something. She's actually 38.
We probably don't have to tell why LiLo looks so much older than her mere 27 years.
