Ready to buy the best bikini ever? Check out these important dos before suiting up:

Get Fitted

Much like fitting bras, when it comes to bikinis, it's important to get the right fit. “The perfect fit is important,” says Maggie Kombogiannis, founder of Meli Beach Swimwear. “If a swimsuit is too small, it will dig into the skin and if it’s too loose, it won’t support you. Try to get a fitting by a professional at a shop specializing in swimwear.” In time for the summer season, many lingerie boutiques offer personalized swimwear fittings.

Enhance Your Best Features

Figure out what your favorite features are and prepare to flaunt them with pride. “Opt for pieces in cuts that you feel great in and that you trust to work for your body,” says Jess Cole, Modstylist for Modcloth.com. “Instead of focusing on ‘hiding’ an area you’re self conscious of, highlight assets that you want to show off. Love your shoulders? Go strapless. Lastly, don’t be afraid to mix and match tops and bottoms in various colors and sizes for a customized look and fit.”

Apple-Shaped Figure

For those with broad shoulders, but tend to carry weight around their midsection, lingerie expert and author of "The Bra Book"Jene Luciani recommends the tankini. A tankini gives you the comfort of hiding any bulges you don’t want others to see, yet it gives you more variety than a standard one-piece swimsuit. “Be sure to look for wide-set straps,” she says. Luciani also suggests opting for a bottom with ruffles to balance your overall look.

(Modcloth)
Pear-Shaped Figure

"This figure fits the profile of most women,” explains Luciani. “This means you are a little larger on the bottom than on top.” For those who may be feeling hesitant about showing off their belly, Luciani says a swim skirt or a pair of swim shorts will minimize hips and thighs. They can also be paired with a top of your choice. “Look for a padded bikini top if you need a little extra on top to balance the bottom or details, like ruffles, to show off a slim middle,” she advises.

Hourglass Figure

Those with a slender waist and a wider bust line and hips should have no trouble finding a bikini that flatters your curves. “This shape, which is perfectly proportional, can wear anything,” explains Luciani. She suggests looking for a halter, bra-style or bustier bikini top. Not only are they on-trend this season, but they provide support for big-busted gals. In terms of bottoms, Luciani likes ones with side ties.

(Tori Praver Swimwear)
Athletic Figure

If you’re straight from top to bottom, you need to find a bikini that will instantly create curves with minimal effort. “Look for bikini bottoms that has multiple straps on the sides and details at the bust,” says Placas. “Ruffles can also create the illusion of curves if they are at the bust line and the waist line of the bikini. A pattern with a swirl can do the same.” Placas also prefers a halter neck tie or closure to create the illusion of broader shoulders, as well as to maximize the bust.

Pregnant

Stylists agree that if you have a baby bump, flaunt it with pride during beach season. The key is looking for a two-piece that will provide a lift and comfort all around. “Choose a style with bust support and a full bottom to provide you with ample coverage that will not dig into your tummy,” says Placas. A halter top is an ideal choice for a growing bust line.

(Marc Jacobs Swimwear)
Petite

If you’re under 5’4” Placas says a bikini can actually give you length in the right places. “A string bikini or any high cut style will elongate the legs,” she says.

(Fig Leaves/Nina Swim)
Small Chest or Slim Bottom

If you have a small chest, slim bottom or both, you can use your suit to create curves. “If you’re wishing to add a little more oomph to your bottom, create curves with bottoms rugged down the middle,” says Lexi Sheehy, representative for Nina Swim. “This lifts the bottom creating the illusion of a rounder booty.” For small-chested ladies, Sheehy likes a balconette top, which offers a more dramatic lift than a standard top, creating cleavage. “A balconette top is a simple, stylish solution to a tiny bust line,” explains Sheehy. “This style highlights the cups of the bust, working with your petite frame.”

(Nanette Lepore)
Tummy Control

Is a tummy pooch stopping you from getting into a bikini? You’re in luck because the ‘50s-inspired high waisted bottom is on-trend and a major do.  “If you have a tummy, a high-waisted bikini will help to camouflage your belly as well as one that has ruching or gathers in the tummy area,” recommends stylist Illysia Neumann-Loreck. A high-waisted bikini is also a great way to channel your inner retro bombshell and add glamour to your overall look to the beach.

Interior design trends come and go just as quickly as fashion.

Whether you're a professional decorator or just enjoy giving your home the occasional makeover — how do you get the look without breaking the bank?

Apartment Therapy shares some helpful tips for bargain hunting like a pro:

(ApartmentTherapy.com)
Buy just the headboard:

You still get the same look, using less material and therefore, less money. Metal bed frames are cheap and can often be found on Craigslist for 25 bucks. When used with a great headboard, you'll never give the rest of the bed another thought. For instance the Lorraine Bed from Pottery Barn is $1399, while just the headboard is $799.

(ApartmentTherapy.com)
Buy Accessories Instead:

Look for the same feel or pattern, just in a smaller, less expensive item. If you can't afford this Madeleine Weinrib rug for thousands, you can still buy this pillow from Etsy in a very similar pattern. Forty-five dollars later, same style, just on a smaller scale.

(ApartmentTherapy.com)
Shop at Children's Stores:

High design often trickles downstream to the younger set and since parents don't want to spend as much for kids, items are designed and priced accordingly. For example, how many times have you seen this lamp from Land of Nod styled in adult rooms? It's pure awesome, on trend, and a very good price.

(ApartmentTherapy.com)
Know Your Stores:

This is kind of a no-brainer, but I'll include it anyway: Certain stores — like Target, World Market or Shades of Light — are known for high design at lower prices. I often start there when I'm looking for a certain type item and — even if I don't find that particular thing — can almost certainly find something else that looks more expensive. Bookmark those sites, and check back frequently.

(ApartmentTherapy.com)
Thrift:

Okay, this is super random. In my area, local Goodwills purchase batches of unsold and returned items from certain stores that shall remain nameless (okay, Target — shhh) to resell. For instance, just last week I saw several of these brand new vases from the Fall 2012 Nate Berkus collection, still with tags. If you aren't a thrift store shopper type, this is reason enough to reconsider.

(ApartmentTherapy.com)
Shop Around:

Just because a certain store or flash sale site says they are selling items at a discount, that still doesn't always mean i's the best deal out there. For example, take these classic zebra Scalamandre pillows that were on One Kings Lane for $399 this past week. However, this eBay store has the same ones for half that.

(ApartmentTherapy.com)
Take Your Time:

If it's something you really love (versus something you irrationally want right at that moment), wait awhile. Again, high design trickles down and other stores will follow suit with their own variation on the theme. Once similar styles are out there, price points (and quality) will most certainly vary. These Jonathan Adler fruit pillows are no longer available on his site, but this version is now for sale at Overstock for $22. Still cute, even after a couple of years, and much cheaper.

Get Gisele's Beachy Waves

Here are five ways to channel the Brazilian beauty this summer with beachy waves.

(Reuters)
Volumize

Use a volumizing product to ensure that the waves have lasting power throughout the day or night. Stylist Janine Jarman loves this look because it works on all hair types and flatters the face. “I would wrap dry hair with a volumizing product, like Sebastian Volupt Spray,” before curling, explains Jarman.

(Reuters)
Curl

Stylist Angelo David says Bündchen’s beachy waves are ideal for women with hair past the shoulders who may be tired of always going sleek and straight. David says the easiest and quickest way to get the look is with a curling iron. “Start with a heat protectant, like my Long and Stronger Detangler, before stylizing to minimize damage from heating tools,” says Angelo. “Using a two inch barrel curling iron, create soft curls to each section of hair. Break the curls by running your fingers through your hair. Finish the look with a medium hold hairspray.”

(Reuters)
Blow Dry

“Apply a volumizing product and blow dry your hair, using your fingers to separate,” says Stylist Julia Papworth. “Feel free to flip your head over to dry. When dry, starting from the bottom up, take medium sized sections of hair, lightly mist with hairspray and then wrap them around a medium sized curling iron. Make sure to leave the ends of the hair uncurled as this really adds to the style.”

(Reuters)
Sleep on It

Don’t feel like using heat as the temperature begins to rise? No problem. Stylist Danny Jelaca says you can get beachy waves overnight. “On damp hair, spritz with a hair oil, Leonor Greyl Huile Secret de Beautè,” explains Jelaca. “Run fingers through your hair and separate into four sections. Then, loosely twist hair into four buns. Sleep and in the morning let them down. You’ll wake up with perfect beach waves.”

(Reuters)
Do the Twist

For those with fine hair, Kusero advises to first use a hair product on towel-dried hair that can add fullness, like Prive Root Amplifier. “Tousle dry hair upside down using high heat on a low speed to avoid frizz,” says Kusero. “Once hair is nearly dry, add a fingertip of texturizing clay, such as Prive Extended Texture Clay. Twist your hair in random sections to separate and define. Allow hair to air dry and then shake it out.”
